The 27th International Symposium on Rarefied Gas Dynamics will be held on July 9–16, 2010, at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. The symposium deals with the properties and flows of rarefied gases and plasmas and their interactions. The interdisciplinary character of the symposium collects researchers from different fields including aerospace and mechanical sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and fluid dynamics, covering fundamental as well as applied aspects. Successive symposia have served as major forums for the presentation of advances in the fields.

Since its foundation in 1958, the International Symposium on Rarefied Gas Dynamics has served as one of the main forums for presentation of recent advances in scientific and engineering fields of rarefied gas dynamics. The 2010 symposium is being hosted by The Pennsylvania State University.

For more information on becoming a sponsor, contact co-chairperson Dr. Deborah A. Levin, professor of aerospace engineering, The Pennsylvania State University, at RGD-2010@engr.psu.edu.
