Comprehensive Short Course in Rotary Wing Technology
Dr. Barnes W. McCormick, Conference Director; Boeing Professor Emeritus of Aerospace Engineering at Penn State
Dr. McCormick is well-known for his two textbooks, Aerodynamics of V/STOL Flight and Aerodynamics, Aeronautics, and Flight Mechanics. He is a former technical director and editor of the Journal of the American Helicopter Society, and past vice president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) for education. Dr. McCormick has consulted for many companies and federal organizations and has served on advisory panels to the U.S. House of Representatives and the Commanding General of the Army's Aviation Systems Command. He was chief of aerodynamics for Vertol when their Model 107, which became the venerable CH-46, first flew.
